VENTURE CREATION ACCELERATOR

The Indiana Venture Center understands the importance of giving graduate students the opportunity to grow both professionally and personally. By allowing aspiring entrepreneurs and ambitious students to work with emerging and expanding companies and see all of the opportunities that exist within Indiana, we are broadening students' perspectives.

The Indiana Venture Center’s Venture Creation Accelerator initiative is designed to assist potential high growth companies, both new and existing, in various aspects of the venture creation and expansion process so that they can more rapidly achieve their growth potential. The Venture Creation Accelerator is an intensive internship program which utilizes teams of the top graduate and undergraduate students from the Venture Center’s university partners – Ball State University, Butler University, University of Evansville, Indiana University, Purdue University, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, and the University of Notre Dame.

Teams of these talented professionals work together to assist companies in a wide range of projects, from feasibility analysis for a new product or service offering to assistance with raising outside capital. Specifically, the Venture Center recruits this top talent to guide early stage high growth companies on the following:

  • Overall Commercialization Strategies
  • Business Plan Review and Refinement
  • Patent Research
  • Market Insight & Research
  • Concept Feasibility
  • Technology Review and Validation
  • Legal Structure
  • Marketing Fundamentals
  • Intellectual Property Research
  • Product Redesign or Enhancement
  • Pricing Strategies
  • Financial Analysis and Forecasting
  • Investment Pitch Refinement

The Indiana Venture Center works with each client to cater to their specific needs. All projects have clearly defined deliverables that are agreed upon prior to project launch. Student teams are expected to provide comprehensive assistance – acting on their feet and consulting in the best interest of the client. Most projects include formal documentation and/or presentation to the client at the conclusion of the project.

In order to participate and take advantage of these high knowledge student teams, each company must be a client of the Indiana Venture Center. In addition, each participating client must be willing to work closely with the assigned student team over the course of the project engagement. Clients should be available to students in order to ensure timely communication, sharing of necessary company information, and achievement of overall project objectives.
